Summer Programme – Paris and the keys to Luxury Business

The objective of this summer programme is to impart fundamental knowledge on how and why French luxury brands are so successful. To do this, you will learn about the history of luxury and the current strategy of luxury brands.

Programme

 During this summer programme, you will:

  • Acquire a strong understanding of the main players in the luxury market
  • Learn to explain what is so unique about strategies used by luxury brands (from Management to Marketing and Supply Chain)
  • Experiment and create your own luxury strategy
  • Experience the luxury environment in the world capital of Luxury

Topics covered:

  • Specificities of luxury marketing (Fundamental luxury codes, key players, digitalization and luxury)
  • Antecedents of luxury consumption (Hedonistic consumption, what matters for the consumers and how consumers draw value from luxury consumption)
  • Sharing the branding secrets of the French luxury advantage
  • Past, present, and future of the luxury

Admission

Credits

  • Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded 6 ECTS/3 US credits.

Pre-requisites

  • Successful completion of at least one year of undergraduate-level studies
  • Strong command of spoken and written English.

Faculty

  • A multicultural team of professors from Rennes School of Business and professionals with expertise in the luxury sector.

Included in the programme:

  • 27 hours of face-to-face teaching in the classroom
  • Outside classroom learning
  • Welcome breakfast and farewell appetizers lunch

The programme is subject to a minimum enrolment of 15 students – if this number is not met, Rennes SB reserves the right to cancel the course.
