Junior Comex: students join the Executive Committee of Rennes School of Business

In its Unframed Thinking approach, “thinking outside the box,” Rennes School of Business invites seven students to participate in the Comex by creating a Junior Comex.

This instance, in English, is designed to engage students in the school’s strategic decisions and provide them with a unique learning experience. On 5 November 2024, seven students from Rennes School of Business (Rennes SB) had the opportunity to participate in the Comex experience alongside their partner Director.

Support on key school projects

In a continuous drive for innovation, Rennes School of Business invites its students to participate in four Comex meetings. As part of a partnership between the Comex and the new Learner Success team within Rennes SB’s programme management, each member of the school’s Comex welcomed a student on 5 November 2024, as a “Junior” to work with them on key school projects.
From school-business relations to academic programmes, digital transformation, and marketing development, the seven students will work closely with executive directors throughout the academic year, supporting them in making key school decisions. They will bring their fresh and creative perspectives to drive change and open up new possibilities.

“By launching its Junior Comex, Rennes SB is taking another step toward putting students at the center of an innovative educational experience, where young voices are fully heard and considered. This unique initiative reflects our commitment to building inclusive and innovative learning experiences, aimed at developing Unframed leaders capable of creating, connecting, and transforming organisations to deliver global performance and build a better world for everyone,” says Adilson Borges, Executive Managing Director of Rennes School of Business.

58 applicants for the Junior Comex

In September, Rennes School of Business launched a call for applications, inviting students from its Rennes and Paris campuses to join the Junior Comex. The application was open to all school students, including those in work-study and long-term exchange programmes. A total of 58 applications were received out of the school’s 5,000 students. After an initial selection phase, 14 students went through additional interviews, and seven were selected to join the Junior Comex:

“The most impressive aspect for me was observing effective communication during a productive meeting, where competent individuals reached comprehensive conclusions while respecting everyone’s opinions and suggestions,” says Anna Panova, a third-year exchange student in the Bachelor in Management.

By joining the Junior Comex, the selected seven students will benefit from a five-step mentoring programme, including immersion within the Comex and individualised support to develop their skills in strategic communication and complex project management. During these sessions with the Comex, students will work on real issues, directly linked to Rennes School of Business’s priorities and the challenges facing higher education.

“This Comex was an incredibly enriching experience, both in terms of form and substance. This first session highlighted the importance of interactions and group dynamics, challenging us on conducting this type of meeting and managing role-related constraints. This new year promises to bring numerous challenges and opportunities for the Junior Comex,” says Erwan Liébot, a second-year Master in Digital Marketing Management student.
