François Chatel has helped to make Rennes School of Business one of the top 1% of business schools in the world.
During his ten years of unwavering commitment, François Chatel has played a decisive role in the transformation and expansion of the school, with his rise in academic excellence and growing positive impact on students and communities in Brittany, France and across the five continents. Under his presidency, Rennes School of Business has experienced remarkable growth, and, with its 5,000 students, has become one of the most prestigious establishments in the field of higher management education in France and worldwide.

Ten years of outstanding achievements
In ten years, Rennes School of Business has obtained Equis accreditation and AACSB renewal, the most prestigious international accreditations and labels for academic excellence. Its flagship programmes (Programme Grande École – Master in Mangement (top 60 in the world), MSc in International Finance (top 25 in the world) and EMBA (top 100 in the world)) have all been ranked highly by the Financial Times. On a national level, the school has been awarded distinctions such as the HCERES label and the grade de Licence for its Bachelor in Management programme and Master’s for the PGE.
On the strength of these successes, against a backdrop of increasing competition and a rapidly changing world, Rennes SB is looking to the future with ambition, supported by a new strategic plan led by its Executive Director and Dean, Adilson Borges.
It has a solid financial base, a strong international identity (with more than 100 nationalities on its campuses), excellent research focused on transitions and technology, and innovative teaching methods including generative AI.
