Rennes School of Business launches a new Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs
From September 2025, Rennes School of Business will be opening a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Relations, a three-year post-baccalaureate programme designed to train talented young people who want to move into courses at the interface between management and the humanities.
A demanding international context calls for new skills
Globalisation requires businesses to navigate an interconnected global environment where economic, geopolitical, technological, and environmental challenges converge and intensify. In this context, future leaders must move beyond mastering the fundamentals of management and develop critical thinking, a systemic perspective, cultural intelligence, and forward-looking vision essential for adapting to a constantly shifting world.
The Bachelor in International Affairs at Rennes School of Business offers an education that is distinctly international and experiential. Designed for young individuals seeking a programme that combines academic rigour with practical learning, this degree includes rich course content, study abroad experiences, and immersive outdoor seminars.
A programme combining intellectual rigour with a global perspective
Accessible directly after high school, the Bachelor in International Affairs enables students to engage with real-world experiences through internships in companies, international mobility at partner universities, and “outdoor” seminars. It also fosters intellectual growth by encouraging students to reflect on management and organisational challenges, incorporating courses that build a systemic understanding of environmental, sociological, and technological issues.
From the first year, students tackle key topics such as environmental transitions, geopolitics, and business planning. In the second year, the focus expands to specialised areas such as sociology, microeconomics, and cybersecurity. By the third year, students integrate strategic innovation analysis, international law, and negotiation techniques into their studies.
“This programme doesn’t just train experts in international business—it reveals engaged contributors ready to positively impact society. Our students will learn to harness their emotions as assets for making informed decisions, surpassing themselves, and inspiring others,” explains Stéphanie Hiaumet, Senior Director of Development and Marketing at Rennes School of Business.
Throughout their studies, students benefit from bilingual instruction (20% of courses in English in the first year, 50% in the second year, and 100% in the third year). They will also undertake international internships and an academic exchange semester in the second year.
Graduates of the Bachelor in International AffAIRSmay pursue advanced studies in fields such as international business, diplomacy, negotiation, and economic intelligence.
“This new programme aims to provide our students with both vision and perspective. This combination enables them to bridge the pragmatic, strategic world of business with the empathetic, visionary realm of international affairs. By the end of their studies, our graduates will be equipped to take concrete, positive action while shaping a future they wish to create,” concludes Noémie Desprez, Director of Initial Training Programmes at Rennes School of Business.
