Rennes School of Business selected by the French Embassy in the USA to host a series of short programmes for American students
Consolidating its ties with North America, Rennes SB was recently selected to host a series of bootcamps on sustainable business in the United States.
Rennes School of Business is pleased to announce its selection by the French Embassy in the USA to participate in the Community College in France Bootcamps Summer 2023 programme. The “Sustainable Business in Rennes” programme will be hosted by Rennes School of Business.
As part of this programme, American community college students are offered the opportunity to explore specific topics while studying in France for two weeks. The programmes are organised and hosted by French higher education institutions, supported by the FACE Foundation, the Embassy of France in the U.S. and the L’Oréal Fund for Women. Scholarships are available for students to the four programmes that are selected annually for participation.
Students who are chosen for the “Sustainable Business Programme in Rennes” will have the opportunity to engage fully in what it means to lead a sustainable business by visiting local businesses that are engaged in sustainable packaging, meeting with a local manager who carries out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, attending lectures led by Rennes SB Faculty, engaging with an international team to pitch their own sustainability project and getting to know Brittany through local cultural site visits. The programme provides an integrated view of how responsible managers can address environmental and social concerns by treating the issues affecting key stakeholders, notably in the context of two specific problems facing the planet – the proliferation of plastic and fast fashion.
“This is an incredible opportunity to gain a broader understanding of sustainability, gain cross-cultural skills and think about leadership in a new way,” says Jennifer Falzerano, North America Manager for Rennes School of Business. “Many community college students in the USA have not had opportunities to study abroad and this type of short programme can be life-changing.”
Rennes School of Business works extensively with community colleges, offering transfer opportunities to students with an associate degree to complete their bachelor’s degree. In 2019, Rennes School of Business became eligible to disburse US Federal Financial Aid “FAFSA”. Participation in these boot camps further expands the opportunities for community college students who need a shorter study option or who would like to experience education in France before committing to a full transfer program.
Applications to the boot camp are available now and are due by January 31.
