The CEAFE/MWET is a forum for scientific exchange and cooperation between researchers from Africa, Europe and the Mediterranean region working in various fields of economics and finance. The ninth edition of this event will be held at Rennes School of Business on 3 and 4 June 2024.

The 9th CEAFE/MWET will be held for the first time in Rennes, with the participation of three renowned partners: Rennes School of Business, CREM (University of Rennes) and the École Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Analyse de l’Information, in collaboration with CORE-Université Catholique de Louvain, AMSE-Aix-Marseille University and the Centre d’Economie de la Sorbonne, Université Paris 1.

This Euro-African Conference on Finance and Economics (CEAFE/MWET) is the fruit of a long-term collaboration between several researchers, universities and research centres in Tunisia, France and Belgium, in partnership with institutions in Egypt, Morocco and Portugal.

Objectives and themes

This conference aims to contribute to the enrichment of scientific knowledge on contemporary economic and financial issues, by bringing together researchers working at the frontier of knowledge in the fields of economics and finance.
It covers a wide range of methods (theoretical, empirical and experimental) and research topics (theoretical economics, finance, economic policy, industrial organisation, normative economics, public economics, international economics, macroeconomics, the labour market, environmental economics, microeconomics, mathematical economics, networks, welfare, social choice, quantitative finance, applied econometrics, financial and banking markets, fiscal and monetary policy, economic growth, development economics, economic and financial cycles), to advance the frontier of scientific knowledge in the fields of economics and finance.

Fondée en 2006 sous le nom de Conférence Euro-Africaine en Finance et Économie (CEAFE), la conférence a adopté en 2022 le second titre : Mediterranean Workshop in Economic Theory (MWET). Since then, the conference has become one of the regional scientific events of the Society for Advancement of Economic Theory (SAET), under the dual name of : CEAFE/MWET.

Submission and registration


Submission of papers is encouraged in all areas of finance and economics: Economic Theory, Microeconomics, Game Theory, Macroeconomics, Econometrics).
